The Liverpool Sugar craft Club held their first meeting in May ’08. It was set up by local tutors and enthusiasts who decided to run the club independently from the British Sugar Craft Guild. We have since grown from strength to strength, attracting many members and visitors who regularly enjoy quality demonstrations from experienced sugar crafters including some well known names such as Karen Davies and Marion Frost. We consider the meetings to be friendly and informal and are delighted to welcome new faces from further afield each month, which we hope will help the club to become even more successful in future and to be able to offer a varied programme of events, trips and demonstrations.
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month, 7 till 9pm (there are no meetings in August due to holidays) the entrance fee is usually £4.00 for visitors, £3.00 for members, unless otherwise stated and depending on the fee charged by demonstrators.
A yearly membership fee is payable in September of £12.50 for 12 months, to be reduced to £6.25 for 6 months, available from March. Although membership is by no way compulsory it does offer benefits other than reduced entrance, as members will be considered first when booking trips, as well as travel expenses often being supplemented.
We offer free refreshments and generally hold a raffle; you can also purchase your Sugarcraft supplies from the on site shop or demonstrators.
